  1. What made Jesus displeased with His disciples? Answer: His disciples were rebuking those who brought young children to Him.

    2. "And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased ...." (Mark 10:13,14).

  2. Does Jesus want children, even little children, to be brought to Him? Answer: Yes. He said that a person must be like a little child to enter the kingdom of God.

    3. "Jesus ... said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unot you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein" (Mark 10:14,15).

  3. What do you think it means to “receive the kingdom of God”? Answer: To receive the kingdom of God means to believe God about His kingdom; to believe and honor God's King, who is Jesus; and submit to Jesus as King and obey Him in humble faith.
  4. Who is the King of “the kingdom of God?” Answer: Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
  5. What did Jesus do with the children who were brought to Him? Answer: He held them in His arms, touched them, and blessed them.

    6. "And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them" (Mark 10:16).

  6. Did Jesus baptize the children? Answer: No.
  7. Did Jesus ask any adults to believe or be baptized for the children, or in the children’s place? Answer: No.
  8. From what Jesus says, who can be saved and enter God’s kingdom? Answer: Any person who gladly receives Jesus the way a humble, believing child receives what is given them and told them, without fear or doubt, with all their heart. All who do so He blesses with His salvation.
Musical Notes

Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep” (John 10:7). Jesus also said, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture” (John 10:9). Just like the sheep had to go through the door to enter the sheepfold, everyone has to receive Jesus Christ as the Savior to be saved and have eternal life. Here is a song you may know, or that you can learn, that helps us remember that we have to be in Jesus by faith to be saved. Jesus is the door of salvation!

  2. What did God do to the seventh day? Answer: He sanctified it, set it apart from other days.

    3. "And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made." (Gen. 2:3).

  3. How was the earth watered before God caused it to rain? Answer: A mist went up from the earth and watered the ground.
